Recommending books based on zodiac signs

I don’t know about you, but I’m quite interested in zodiac signs. I find that they hit the nail on the head a lot of times, hence I really enjoy watching zodiac sign compilation videos or memes. I’m not saying they are always right, obviously, but they are fun to think about. I’m not that knowledgeable on the topic, so please take this post with a grain of salt! Some signs were easy to pair a book with, but for some, I had a hard time picking something. I had a great time coming up with them, so I hope you’ll also enjoy it!

Aries (March 21 – April 19)

cover of grown

Grown by Tiffany D. Jackson ➽ I feel like this would be a perfect read for Aries because it’s such a quick-paced and addictive novel, they won’t be able to put it down. Aries can get impatient quickly (I’m an Aries rising, I can relate), so flowery writing and super long descriptions are not their cup of tea. This is an excellent YA mystery that will captivate them from the get-go. (Though please check the content warnings before reading it!)

Taurus (April 20 – May 20)

cover of with the fire on high

With the Fire on High by Elizabeth Acevedo ➽ This beautiful book will appeal to Taurus readers, as it’s a wholesome read about a teen mom who has a penchant for cooking. It has luscious food descriptions, and you can’t help but get hungry while reading it. Emoni is such a great character, she’s hardworking, caring and ambitious. I think Tauruses will also appreciate the appearance of the book, as it’s so pretty and aesthetic.

Gemini (May 21 – June 20)

cover of anne of green gables

Anne of Green Gables by L. M. Montgomery ➽ When I looked up Gemini, I knew right off the bat that I had to go with Anne Shirley! She is really curious, always wanting to know more about everything in the world, and she can never stay put. I feel like Geminis might identify with her character, so it’s worth a shot reading it!

Cancer (June 21 – July 22)

cover of the chilbury ladies' choir

The Chilbury Ladies’ Choir by Jennifer Ryan ➽ I could’ve easily recommended The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, but I wanted to highlight a lesser-known work. Cancers like to think about the past, so I thought historical fiction would be fitting. This one is set in a little village in England during World War II when an all-women choir is the only thing that is keeping up the women’s spirits. Even though it’s set during a war, this book feels like a warm hug, and it will appeal to compassionate Cancers.

Leo (July 23 – August 22)

cover of crazy rich asians

Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan ➽ Much like for Aries, I chose a book that is fast-paced and addictive. Crazy Rich Asians has everything a Leo wishes for, it’s filled with drama, luxury and intriguing characters.

Virgo (August 23 – September 22)

cover of the house in the cerulean sea

The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune ➽ When I read the description of Virgos, I immediately thought of Linus Baker from The House in the Cerulean Sea! He is dutiful, neat, a rule follower with a heart of gold. This wholesome fantasy novel is perfect for warm-hearted Virgos.

Libra (September 23 – October 22)

cover of the prince and the dressmaker

The Prince and the Dressmaker by Jen Wang ➽ Libras have an eye for aesthetics, so this luscious graphic novel will be a perfect choice for them! It also has a romance, so they will be even more satisfied.

Scorpio (October 23 – November 21)

cover of the seven husbands of evelyn hugo

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid ➽ If Evelyn Hugo is not a Scorpio, I will eat my hat. I consider her that because she’s brave, passionate, secretive and persevering. I think this Hollywood story will be really enjoyable for Scorpios because they will relate to Evelyn’s personality.

Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21)

cover of Love&Gelato

Love & Gelato by Jenna Evans Welch ➽ Sagittariuses love travelling and adventures, so I thought why not recommend a book that will transport them to Italy? This book was my favourite of the trilogy, though you can totally read it as a stand-alone! I have never been to Florence yet, but reading this book made me feel like I was there with the characters.

Capricorn (December 22 – January 19)

cover of fence, volume one

Fence, Volume One by C. S. Pacat ➽ Capricorns are driven and goal-oriented people, and I think they would really enjoy reading about all these ambitious kids! You don’t have to know anything about fencing to read this graphic novel series, so don’t be intimidated by the topic.

Aquarius (January 20 – February 18)

cover of the book thief

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak ➽ An unconventional book for original Aquariuses. They strive to make the world better, and they are humanitarians at heart. This book is all about humanity under inhumane conditions, finding new family and friends. It’s super unique as the narrator is Death, and I think Aquariuses will appreciate this uncommon format.

Pisces (February 19 – March 20)

cover of summer bird blue

Summer Bird Blue by Akemi Dawn Bowman ➽ This was the easiest pick, as it’s one of my all-time favourites, and I’m a Pisces. We love tragic books, which play on our heartstrings, and this one does that for sure. We love discovering new bits about ourselves, and the main character, Rumi does exactly that during the novel, and you can’t help but love her. I also am reminded of a Wicked quote whenever I think about this book because, in my opinion, it fits perfectly:

“I’ve heard it said
That people come into our lives
For a reason
Bringing something we must learn
And we are led to those
Who help us most to grow if we let them
And we help them in return”

It’s bittersweet and it will break your heart, but Pisces love that, right? (insert a painful smile here)

And there you have it, twelve book recommendations! I hope you found my post entertaining. Tell me, what is your zodiac sign, and have you read the book I paired with it?

  1. I find zodiac recommendation posts to be so much fun! 🥰 (even though my zodiac sign – Aries – doesn’t fit me at all 😭) I have heard a lot of good things about Tiffany D. Jackson and I think I need to finally pick up her books! 💕
