February wrap-up // Lots of reading, anxious days & bookshelf reorganisations

I am always thankful February is the shortest month of the year. I always try, but so far I’ve never really managed to have a fully satisfactory ending to winter. A person’s birthday month should be their favourite, right? There’s a long way to go until I can achieve that goal. One thing I really appreciated was reading. I read a lot, and I enjoyed it very much. I finished twelve books, and I liked the majority of them, which is the most important.

January wrap-up // Finding a new favourite k-drama & doing a sugar-free challenge

What can I say about this month? I’ve never been a fan of winter, especially after Christmas, when everything’s just so grey and bleak, and this year hasn’t been different. It was just long and mundane. Having to stay at home and not being able to travel and walk a lot in nature is super hard for me, so it’s nothing new that my mood hasn’t been the best. It’s better than it was in December, but still… I long for true spring. I read seven books, most of which I very much liked. I also did a sugar-free challenge, which I’m going to talk about more later in this post.

December wrap-up // Thank you, next

Hey December, guess I’m feeling unmoored… I wish I could say that the first month of winter was absolutely marvellous, and I fell in love with this season as I was hoping. But nope, that, unfortunately, didn’t happen, and I’m really sad about it. Even Christmas wasn’t that enjoyable as my father got sick just before Christmas Eve, and a few days later my mom and I got sick as well. So now I spend my time escaping into TV shows, movies and the Percy Jackson universe. I wasn’t really in the mood for reading this month, I finished four books.

November wrap-up // A cold month with lots of Taylor Swift music

November was a decent end of autumn. I didn’t enjoy it as much as October, because as the weather gets colder, and the sun shows itself less and less, it makes my mood quite bad, to say the least. This year, I tried to notice the silver lining, which was successful at times, but not so at other times. I managed to read seven books, and I had the chance to travel once, which was lovely.

October wrap-up // Midnights, trips & lots of books

October was a pretty great month, thankfully. There have been quite warm weekends, which made it possible to travel a few times. I also read a lot, thirteen books to be precise, which is the most I’ve read in a month this year. I got back into the habit of reading every day before going to bed, and I was actually looking forward to those minutes. I did my 31-day digital declutter challenge, which I’ll talk about in a separate post soon. I also baked a lot with pumpkins, haha.

September wrap-up // Two-year anniversary & chilly weather

September was a month… I don’t know, it mainly just passed. There were great times, but the majority was just okay. Which happens sometimes, I guess. But still, I miss summer, I miss being in nature, swimming in the lake. I also hate the fact that I don’t have any more free weekdays because I used them all up in summer, which was my decision, but still. The fact that I will have to work every weekday without a holiday in sight really dampened my mood. I wish I enjoyed my job, but that’s not the case, unfortunately. However, great news at least, is that I read eleven books, the most in a long while. I think that’s due to the fact that I’m staying more and more inside, which is unfortunate. Honestly, I’d rather travel more than read more, that’s my desire nowadays, but you can’t always get what you want. Don’t get me wrong, all of these books were really great. But enough of me babbling on forever, let’s get started.

August wrap-up // The last month of summer is always the most bittersweet

Dammit, I had a brilliant way to start this wrap-up, it involved a Taylor Swift august reference, and I totally forgot it. I knew I should’ve written it down when my Muse stroke me. Never mind, it’ll probably come to my mind in the middle of winter. August was great, I had the chance to travel inside my country, been to two places I’d never visited before, and also returned to my favourite, the cottage. I wish I could’ve stayed there longer, but work waits for no one. I read five books, I finished a series I started in that month, which is so rare.

July wrap-up // Visiting Agatha Christie’s summer house & surviving the London heatwave

This is going to be a super long post, as so many exciting things happened to me this month, so grab a cup of iced tea or something! With my best friend I flew to England for six days, and it was an experience. I never sat on a plane before, and I was super anxious. I didn’t enjoy flying per se, but I managed it. I’m actually proud of myself, because this was the first time I went abroad without my family, and we navigated quite well. I read five books, the majority at the beginning of the month when I was at the lake cottage for a few days.

June wrap-up // A calm but also stressful month

June was quite diverse. It started peacefully, but then as I had to make some important decisions, I started to get more and more anxious. But more about that later… The weather was extremely hot, basically all month it was between 27 and 37 Celsius degrees. I like summer, but this excessive warm weather is not making anyone’s life easier. I read six books, the majority during the first week of the month when I was on holiday. Ever since I arrived home, I got into a slump, and couldn’t make myself read.

May wrap-up // Weeks spent in awaiting

At this point, I don’t even remember what happened in May. 95% of the month went by with me impatiently waiting for the last few days when I travelled to a summer cottage. I had a lot of adventures in those last couple of days, starting with my train stopping in the middle of nowhere basically. Well, it was a station, thankfully, but at a place I’ve never heard of before. I read five books, all of them nonfiction, three of them got five stars, but I enjoyed all of them.
