In a recent Books Unbound episode (number 159) Ariel and Raileen rated bookish things out of ten, using decimals too. I am fond of rating anything and everything (you know that if you’ve been reading me for a while), so I thought it would be a super fun blog post to write. There’s a newer episode in which they rate more things, so keep an eye out for a second part! HERE is the spreadsheet the girls made, in case you’d like to check out their ratings.

2022 statistics
We’ve arrived at the last recap post, which is probably my favourite: stats! I’m currently writing this on New Year’s Eve as I’m still sick and need something to distract my mind. Three Days Grace is blasting from the stereo and I’m geeking out about numbers and graphs. So, without a lot of incoherent babbling, let’s jump into this post.

Last time, I told you all about my nonbookish favourites of this year, now it’s time for what we’re all here for: books! I’m not going to go into specific statistics, as I’m planning to do an entire post for that, I’d just like to share my favourites from each category. I’ve read quite a lot of amazing novels this year, so it was hard narrowing them down.
The last time I wrote a reading resolutions kind of post was in 2020, back when I still had my Hungarian blog. I used to write them yearly, so I kind of miss that, that’s why I’m here today! I’ve always loved writing lists, especially resolutions, but then making sure to keep those promises throughout the whole year? That was not my forte, but I still wrote them every end of the year. So this year, this is mostly going to be an outline of hopeful resolutions I would like to keep, but if not, that’s totally fine too. Let’s jump into this post then!

Another month is coming to an end, which means that it’s time for M&M’s pick my tbr! I started this challenge in October, and so far it’s been really fun. I’m always looking forward to seeing what these candies have in store for me. Let’s jump into today’s post!

I really enjoyed putting up my tbr for October, so I thought I’d like to continue with this little fun game to pick four books I will read in November, too. In case you don’t know what I’m talking about, HERE you can read all the plus information about it. I was looking forward to the end of the month to play this game, and not just because I could eat M&M’s then… Absolutely not, I’m even offended that this thought came up in your mind! 😂 Jokes aside, I was truly looking forward to picking my next books. So, let’s see what the M&M’s chose for me! Also, I decided to make a uniform header for this tbr game, and I really like how it turned out!

I wrote a post back in 2020 called Five-star predictions, and now I finally have read all six books! So in this post, I’m going to check out how accurate I was, and also select five more books I think will be five-star reads. It took me a crazy long time to finish all of the books because I wasn’t prioritising any of them, I just read them whenever I felt like it. I think this new batch will take less time but we shall see.

So, if you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I rarely do tbrs, just for occasional read-a-thons. I used to set myself a monthly tbr back when I had my old Hungarian blog, but I realised that it wasn’t for me. However, when I stumbled upon THIS video, I was instantly hooked by the idea. Dani @ Current Chapter booktube page created this absolutely amazing tbr challenge a few years ago, and she does it basically every month. I mean, combining sweets and books is my dream, so I was like heck yeah, let’s try this. So, even though I’m not much of a tbr person, I’ve decided to just go for it, and see if I like it. I will choose four books because that sounds reasonable to me. Since it’s going to be October, I wanted to pick spookier reads because I won’t participate in any Halloween-themed read-a-thons this year.

Recently, out of the blue, I started thinking about first lines in classics. I could easily quote a few, and I noticed how beautiful, interesting or strong most of them were. So today I’m going to share some of my favourites, as all of them would make a never-ending blog post. I haven’t read all of the mentioned books, some I don’t have any intention to, however, I still wanted to feature them here. Also, just a quick disclaimer that I’m not an English student, so my reasonings will not be academic or analytic, haha.

No, you are reading the title correctly. This post is going to be all about bookish stats related to my 2021 reads. So, you may be wondering, why on Earth do I care about this, after all, last year has ended eight months ago. That’s a good question though. And the answer is: I have no clue. I just suddenly felt like making a post about it, as when it was time for this in January, I was just not in the mental space to give a rat’s ass about statistics. But now, I was thinking about how much I enjoyed putting together my 2020 statistics, and I was sad how I missed last year’s. Then I realised, who said I couldn’t do it this late? Stats won’t expire after all… So, if you like pie charts, accompany me while I analyse my reading.
